Integral Communications Workshop
The Integral Communications Workshop is a group effort that facilitates the personal and practical transformation of the process inherent in the communication event: In this context, the use of the word integral means that nothing essential is left out. And the use of the word communication refers to what occurs when the essential nature of a person, situation or an object is experienced in relation to another. Or more simply stated, communications is simply the process of sharing.
The insights borne of the Integral Communications Workshop represent a significant distinction from the current understanding of the communications process. For as it is practiced today, communication is largely an unconscious practice of a set of previously learned mental postures, reactions and behavioral artifacts; ways of feeling, thinking, believing and behaving, that have been cultivated due to our belilef in their ability to keep us safe.
These practices give us the experience of safety by disassociating us from situations we have feared in the past, such as strong expressions of emotions or anger, being put on the spot, humiliated, feeling inadequate or incompetent, not having the right answer, being uncertain, not attractive, too attractive, invisible, left out and ridiculed etc.
Due to the fact that our communications process employs this function by default, it is not only transparent to our attention but isolates us from the present moment be enabling only our reaction to it. Integral Communications is a process that breaks us free from habitual reactions born of the past in favor of the skill to respond in the present with nothing left out. This results in a communications process that is relaxed, powerful and complete.
